Chennai, Aug 20: 2 and 3 wheeler maker TVS Motor Company Ltd hopes to sell around 10,000 units of its new Scooty Zest in a month’s time whereas it might launch a motorbike in six months, a high company official aforesaid Wed.
“We are targeting to sell 10,000 units within the 1st month. The model is available at our dealer showrooms,” TVS chairman and managing director Venu Srinivasan told reporters here Wed.
According to him, the corporate would set out with a replacement Victor bike in six months time.
In order to money on the growing market for the scooter, TVS Motor has launched Scooty Zest – a 110cc scooter – priced at Rs.42,300 ex-showroom New Delhi.
According to Srinivasan, the scooter market is quickest growing section currently accounting for around twenty six p.c of the overall 2 wheeler market and is expected to stabilise at around thirty p.c.
TVS Motor has endowed around Rs.70 crore within the development of Scooty Zest, that is targeted at the 18-25 girls.
According to Srinivasan, the opposite Scooty models – Scooty Pep+ and Scooty Streak – would still exist because the entry level models.
For TVS Motor, Scooty is the most long standing and successful complete.
Srinivasan aforesaid TVS Motor started as a minibike company is currently a full fledged 2 wheeler maker with models across numerous segments.
“The minibike market isn’t growing however stays at around 5.6 p.c or 5.7 p.c of the overall 2 wheeler market,” Srinivasan aforesaid.
