SCNew Delhi, March 26: The Supreme Court on Thursday allowed the govt to finalize the auction of telecom spectrum and announce the winners, however with a caveat.

The culmination of the results will be subject to the outcome of the cases being detected by the apex court.

The telecom auction finished on Wednesday once nineteen days, with a complete bid commitment of nearly Rs.110,000 crores from the eight players within the fray.

Recording submissions by lawyer General Mukul Rohatgi and the rival counsel together with P. Chidambaram showing for mobile operators, the apex court bench of Justice Dipak Misra and Justice Prafulla C. Pant in their order said: “We are inclined to change our order and permit the Union of India to finalize auction and proceed additional.”

All the successful  bidders shall be intimated that the auction will be finalised subject to the end result of the hearing of matter by the court, the court said in its order.

As the court seemed to relax its earlier order of Feb twenty six restraining the govt from finalising the bids, Chidambaram told the court that it had been like pushing the envelope, in. by in., towards their goal.

At the point of the hearing, Rohatgi told the court that the auction was an incredible success.

Seeking the modification of the Feb twenty six order, Rohatgi told the court that the govt might then persuade the successful  bidders to create the initial payment that is Rs.28,000 crores and has already been factored into the budget.
