Mumbai, Nov sixteen film maker Mehul Kumar, well-known for movies like “Tiranga” and “Krantiveer”, is in police custody in an exceedingly case of misappropriating funds, a political candidate said.

Kumar was arrested Friday. He was dragged to court by Jayantilal Gada of production house in style amusement Networks Ltd. (PEN Ltd). Gada had Lententide Rs.6 large integer to Kumar to create 2 films, however, the latter used half the funds to create a mall in Jamnagar, Gujarat.

An official from Juhu police station “The court has taken Mehul Kumar below custody yesterday. He has been arrested and is in Arthur Road Jail.”

Kumar took cash from Gada in 2000. However, he finished up creating only 1 film, while not returning the cash to Gada.

Gada had approached the court in 2010. The court then directed the Juhu station house here to lodge a case against Kumar and conduct an inquiry.

Gada hopes to induce justice.

“I had given Mehul a complete of Rs. 6 crore to create 2 films. With Rs.3 crore, he made
‘Kitne Door Kitne Paas’ (2002) and so he took Rs.3 large integer for his second film, that never went on floors.

“He went and spent Rs.4 large integer meant to create a movie, on building a mall in his home city in Jamnagar. i’m glad he’s below custody and hope to induce justice,”.
